On Friday, May 15, 2026, an introductory meeting for participants of the culinary course within the Erasmus+ program, specifically the MC Chef project, was held at the Pučko otvoreno učilište Čakovec (POU Čakovec). A dozen participants interested in improving their knowledge and skills in gastronomy attended the meeting.
The meeting served as an introduction to a unique educational program that combines theory and practice. The participants will first take part in the online portion of the course, which was presented by Ivica Jeđud, head of institutional and inter-organizational cooperation at POU Čakovec. Following that, they will apply the acquired knowledge in practice, about which they received detailed information from Anica Naranđa, vocational teacher-mentor.
This course is part of the Erasmus+ project MC Chef (Microcredential Kitchen Basics for Gastronomy), within which POU Čakovec collaborates with partners from Austria and Spain. The main goal of the project is to create adaptable digital educational content and introduce microcredentials that will facilitate the employment of chefs across Europe. The project is particularly focused on environmentally sustainable practices in the hospitality sector, stronger connections with employers, and the integration of vulnerable groups into the labor market.
All materials developed during the implementation of the project will be free of charge and publicly available in several languages.
