An online exhibition combining intangible cultural heritage, traditional ecological knowledge and the possibilities offered by generative artificial intelligence has been developed as part of the Erasmus+ project HER[AI]TAGE.

The HER[AI]TAGE project focuses on preserving and promoting the stories, memories, customs and knowledge of older generations. During the project, almost 200 oral histories were collected in Croatia, Slovenia and Serbia. Selected stories were transformed into AI-generated illustrations, presenting the experiences and knowledge of older community members in a contemporary and engaging format.

The exhibition can be visited in person at Public Open University Čakovec until the end of August. An online version has also been prepared for everyone who is unable to visit the exhibition in person.

Each illustration is accompanied by a short story and an audio narration, which can be accessed by simply clicking on the selected image. You can explore the online exhibition through the photo gallery below or by visiting the following link:

There is much we can learn from older generations. We invite you to listen to their stories, discover elements of local cultural and ecological heritage, experience the illustrations and join us in connecting generations.
