As part of the SMART AGE project’s week in Brussels, the project partners came together on Tuesday, 29 September, for a full-day Transnational Project Meeting (TPM) hosted at the Office of the Styrian Region (Steiermark Büro) in Brussels.
We were delighted to have the opportunity to meet at the Steiermark Büro and are grateful for their hospitality and support. Their willingness to help and promote SMART AGE further in Brussels and Belgium will be valuable in raising awareness of the project’s goals and the importance of media literacy for older people.
The meeting brought together project managers from all three partner organisations – Bildungshaus Retzhof (Austria), POU Čakovec (Croatia) and Ljudska univerza Ormož (Slovenia) – to review progress, coordinate ongoing work and agree on the next steps.
From curriculum development to learning modules
An important focus was finalising the remaining tasks of Work Package 2 (WP2), including the translation of the SMART AGE curriculum.
The partners also looked ahead to Work Package 3 (WP3), which will be the main focus of the coming months. Discussions centred on the structure and content of the learning modules, the division of responsibilities among partners and how the modules will connect with the project’s planned Massive Open Online Course (MOOC).
Ljudska univerza Ormož will lead the development of the educational content, while POU Čakovec will be responsible for the MOOC’s technical structure. Close cooperation between all three partners will help ensure that the learning materials and online course form a coherent learning experience.
Moving forward together
The meeting provided an important opportunity to align expectations, clarify responsibilities and plan the next phase of implementation.
With the curriculum approaching completion and the development of the learning modules ahead, SMART AGE is moving closer to its goal of strengthening media literacy among older people, particularly those living in rural areas and smaller communities.
Together with our partners and supporters, we are working towards accessible, practical learning opportunities that help seniors navigate the digital world with greater confidence and critical awareness.
