Opening of the Erasmus+ HER[AI]TAGE Project Exhibition at POU Čakovec

A photography exhibition based on the stories of elderly individuals, collected within the framework of the Erasmus+ HER[AI]TAGE project, has been set up on the first floor of the Public Open University Čakovec (POU Čakovec).

The stories recount intangible cultural heritage, personal memories, traditional customs, as well as knowledge and experiences related to nature and the environment. With the assistance of generative artificial intelligence, their content has been transformed into visual representations (photographs), which bring valuable local heritage closer to a wider audience in a contemporary manner.

Each photograph is accompanied by a QR code that directs visitors to the story in a multimedia format. In addition to the full text of the story, an audio narration, an additional illustration, and brief educational content related to its theme are available.

The aim of the HER[AI]TAGE project is to explore the possibilities of applying modern technologies, including generative artificial intelligence, in preserving and transmitting the knowledge, experiences, and memories of elderly individuals related to intangible cultural heritage and the environment.

The exhibition is open for viewing until the end of August, every working day during the institution’s regular working hours, at Kralja Tomislava 52 in Čakovec.

For all those unable to visit the exhibition in person, the publication of its digital version is planned in the coming weeks. For more information, please follow the website and social media channels of the Public Open University Čakovec.
