Last week, from 7 to 9 July, Public Open University Čakovec had the pleasure of hosting a group of 10 adult learners from the University of Žilina, Slovakia, accompanied by their group leader. They visited Čakovec as part of an Erasmus+ KA1 mobility project.
During the three-day visit, the participants had the opportunity to learn more about the lifelong learning system in Croatia, the specific characteristics of our local community, and the activities of POU Čakovec.
Particular emphasis was placed on presenting Erasmus+ projects in which our institution has participated:
HER[TAGE: A project focused on preserving the intangible cultural heritage and traditions of our region through the use of artificial intelligence tools. Following the presentation, the guests visited an exhibition of AI-generated images based on authentic life stories of older generations. We would also like to invite the wider public to visit the exhibition, which is currently on display at our premises.
InclusiGardens: A project aimed at promoting food cultivation in urban environments, even in limited spaces such as balconies and windowsills. Participants had the opportunity to explore and try out the educational tools developed within the project, including one card game and three digital games.
In addition to the educational programme, the guests showed great interest in discovering the tourist and cultural attractions of our region. They visited the Treasury of Međimurje, the Old Town of Čakovec, Zrinski Park, the “Med dvemi vodami” Visitor Centre, and Matulov Grunt. Alongside the other locations they explored, the participants expressed great satisfaction with the abundance of natural attractions and the quality of Međimurje’s tourism offer.
