Project partners and adult educators gathered at the University of Žilina, Slovakia, for a Learning, Teaching and Training (LTT) activity as part of Work Package 3 – the Digital Handbook for Gamification-Based Teaching.
Over two inspiring days, we explored how gamification and game-based learning can make adult education more motivating, engaging and practical.
The training focused on three key areas covered by our Digital Handbook:
- English language learning
- digital literacy
- self-motivation through soft skills
Participants took part in practical activities, discussed different approaches and reflected on how these methods could be applied in their educational work. The activities were highly interactive, with plenty of opportunities for questions and the exchange of experiences.
A particularly important part of the training was the evaluation of the Handbook. Participants provided valuable feedback on the materials, instructions, usability and practical application. Their insights will help us further improve the Handbook and ensure that it becomes an even more useful, relevant and high-quality resource for adult educators.
We were also delighted to offer the option of hybrid participation! Two participants from each partner organisation joined the training online and connected with those attending in Žilina. This provided an opportunity to present and disseminate the Handbook, enabling them to take part in the discussion even from a distance.
And, of course, learning does not stop when the formal sessions end! In the afternoons, we also enjoyed cultural activities and sightseeing, discovering Žilina and getting to know the local culture. Our “Level Up Together” working dinner gave participants an opportunity to connect, exchange experiences and strengthen the partnership.
The training in Žilina is an important step towards our broader goal: creating accessible and innovative resources that help adult educators introduce game elements into their teaching and provide adults with more engaging learning experiences.
