Quality assurance in the field of adult education is the subject of political debates on the further development of lifelong learning at both national and transnational levels. Concern for the quality of one’s own work (educational organizations, teachers) is today an integral part of the development of organizations for adult education. In some countries, systems of internal quality care, which are based on self-evaluation methods, are connected to and are part of accountability systems, thereby also taking on a different role in quality assessment.
In whatever role they appear, at least in one part they maintain the fundamental purpose: that the data and information obtained through self-evaluation should help the educational organization in making further decisions about the necessary quality improvements. Introducing quality into educational organizations also means changing and improving existing work. Organizational leaders in particular are constantly looking for ways to take the first steps towards change, and above all, they would like to inspire colleagues to change the way they work.
Current quality measurement procedures at the level of adult education are lengthy and time-consuming due to the physical processing of data obtained through surveys, which often affects the motivation of professional colleagues to participate in quality assessment procedures, and due to the wide range of indicators by which quality is assessed, educational organizations do not have the opportunity for any comparative analyzes in the field of quality. With the project, we will shorten quality assessment procedures and unify quality assessment indicators in the field of non-formal education programs and support activities for adults at the transnational level. At the same time, we will provide the possibility of comparative analyzes between organizations on a national and transnational level in the field of quality.
