Public Open University Čakovec strives to make its websites accessible in accordance with the Act on Accessibility of Websites and Software Solutions for Mobile Devices of Public Sector Bodies of the Republic of Croatia (“Narodne novine”, number 17/19; hereinafter: the Act) which transposes the Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 26 October 2016 on the accessibility of websites and mobile applications of public sector bodies (OJ L 327, 2.12.2016).
This Accessibility Statement applies to the online headquarters of the People’s Open University Čakovec, which is located at https://www.pou-cakovec.hr/, including all subdomains of the pages that are published as part of it.

Raising the level of accessibility
Public Open University Čakovec undertakes activities that will strive to achieve compliance with the Law on Accessibility of Websites and Software Solutions for Mobile Devices of Public Sector Bodies of the Republic of Croatia.
Disproportionate load
For all the non-compliances mentioned under points 1 to 5, the Public Open University Čakovec temporarily invokes an exception due to disproportionate burden in the sense of Article 8 of the Act. In accordance with Article 3 of the Act, PDF files that were published before September 23, 2018 are qualified by the Čakovec Public Open University as archives and are exempt from the application of the Act.
Technical limitations
The technical limitations of the current system architecture make it impossible to achieve full compliance of the Čakovec People’s Open University website with the Accessibility Act, which is reflected in the difficult movement of people with disabilities through the website due to the complexity of pages and subpages, in the limited number of possible search methods and complex procedures for entering materials.
