About
The “Higher Education for Roma” project was a successful Erasmus+ small-scale partnership that aimed to improve the quality of vocational and professional education for Roma students by empowering teachers to effectively address the challenges they face when teaching Roma students. The project involved a consortium of organizations from Slovenia and Croatia, including Dvojezicna srednja sola Lendava, Gospodarska skola, Ljudska univerza Zavod za izobrazevanje odraslih in mladine Lendava, and Pucko otvoreno uciliste Cakovec. The project activities included secondary research on enrollment and dropout trends of Roma students, focus groups with teachers, showcasing successful Roma students who completed vocational or professional education, adapting the GEM program for teachers’ needs, and pilot teacher training in Slovenia and Croatia. As a result, the project developed recommendations for secondary schools with Roma students and contributed to preventing early school leaving and educational failure among the Roma community.
