The Public Open University Čakovec is proud to announce its participation in a new Erasmus+ Key Action 2: Cooperation Partnerships (KA220) project titled “X-VET – Integrated Sustainability Approach for the Effective Navigation of Emerging Critical Transformations”. The project proposal has been officially approved for funding with an excellent evaluation score of 94 out of 100 points.

The main objective of the X-VET project is to empower vocational education and training (VET) and adult education institutions, as well as their educators and learners, with the knowledge, skills, and tools necessary to drive sustainability transformation. In line with the key priorities of the European Union—the green and digital transition—the project will integrate experiential entrepreneurship and digital innovation into educational practices.

Throughout the project’s implementation, the consortium will work on developing three key results:

  • An Integrated Sustainability Workbook: A strategic framework and a 10-step model designed to guide VET institutions in embedding sustainability into their governance, curricula, and operations.
  • An online course (MOOC) on sustainability: An open online course that will offer key knowledge and competencies for VET leaders, educators, and learners through specialized modules.
  • The organization of sustainability-focused “hackathons”: Innovative events that will foster collaboration between learners, educators, and industry partners to co-design practical and sustainable solutions.

The Public Open University Čakovec will collaborate on the project with partners from Germany, Austria, Latvia, Slovakia, Serbia, and Italy, thereby strengthening the exchange of knowledge and contributing to innovation in the European educational area.

We look forward to the commencement of project activities and the learning and development opportunities it will bring.
