As part of the HEDROM project, co-financed under the Erasmus+ program of the European Union, last week we held a five-day training program for working with pupils of the Roma national minority, in which the teachers of the Čakovec Economic School participated. Through interactive lectures, workshops, exercises and a study visit to a Roma settlement, fifteen teachers covered topics important for the education of Roma pupils. The study modules included in the program were: familiarization with Roma culture, language, identity and history; Roma in the education system; pedagogical work with pupils of Roma nationality; the importance of school and classroom climate for Roma pupils. We thank all the teachers for their active participation, and we especially thank Mr. Dragan Ignac from Roma NGO UZOR for the realization of the visit to the Roma settlement.
