ČAKOVEC, CROATIA – The Erasmus+ project “Help to Opportunities” (H2O) held its 4th Transnational Project Meeting (TPM) in Čakovec, Croatia from October 23-26, 2023. The meeting was hosted by partner organization Pučko otvoreno učilište Čakovec.
Representatives from all nine partner organizations across eight European countries participated, including Ljudska univerza Lendava (Slovenia), Razvojni center Murska Sobota (Slovenia), Pučko otvoreno učilište Čakovec (Croatia), Amrita OBK (Hungary), Obrazovno Kulturna Zajednice Roma “Romanipen” (Serbia), Irish Creative Training and Innovative Development Center (Ireland), Inercia Digital (Spain), Previform (Portugal), and the University of Thessaly (Greece).
The agenda focused on reviewing tasks completed so far and planning for the final project phase. Key items discussed included:
– Reviewing activities and outputs completed in the first half of the project, with a special focus on the successful realization of learning/teaching/training (LTT) activities for Roma lay educators
– Presenting the educational board game developed to raise health literacy
– Discussing upcoming pilot implementation of workshops aimed at raising health literacy of Roma individuals and equipping them with necessary knowledge on healthy lifestyles
– Planning remaining dissemination activities and impact measurement, including a final project conference in Slovenia in 2024
“We’re now entering the important final stage of implementation to put our tools and resources into practice in local Roma communities,” said Mario Zamuda, the principal of POU Čakovec. “The enthusiasm and commitment from all partners during this meeting gave us renewed energy to finish strong and achieve maximum impact.”
The meeting successfully aligned all partners for the remaining project activities in 2023-2024, including piloting the health literacy curriculum, hosting multiplier events, and measuring long-term impact.
The H2O project, co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme, aims to raise health literacy levels and promote healthy lifestyles among Roma communities across Europe. Through research, training programs, e-learning tools and other initiatives tailored for the Roma population, the project seeks to empower Roma individuals and families to take charge of their health.
