We are pleased to report on the successful exhibition of works created during our cycle of traditional pottery workshops in Međimurje. These educational and creative sessions were led by Đurđica Horvat, a master craftswoman and a dedicated guardian of this valuable local heritage.
The program was designed with the aim of preserving our cultural heritage, encouraging creative expression, and teaching fundamental skills in traditional techniques for making functional and decorative clay items. The workshops are implemented as part of the Programme for the Protection and Preservation of Intangible Cultural Goods, co-financed by the Ministry of Culture and Media of the Republic of Croatia.
Participants proudly presented the results of their work – their first small plates, traditional jugs (ćupići), cups, and other unique items crafted over the past weeks. The exhibited works delighted visitors, demonstrating just how much effort, creativity, and love can be transferred into clay under expert guidance.
The atmosphere at the exhibition was warm and inspiring, and we are particularly pleased to see such strong community interest in preserving traditional skills. We extend our heartfelt thanks to all participants for their dedication, and to Mrs. Đurđica Horvat for her selfless sharing of knowledge and patient mentorship.
Thank you to everyone involved – tradition lives on thanks to you!
