We are exceptionally pleased to share the wonderful moments from our excursion yesterday to Murska Sobota, organized within the framework of the Erasmus+ project EUCountry. A group of about thirty of our retirees participated in this educational and interactive event, where they had the opportunity to broaden their horizons and create lasting memories.

The first stop on our journey was a visit to Mensana, where the Center for Processing and Reuse of the Pomurje region was introduced to us. This initiative is an excellent example of how communities can promote sustainability and reuse, contributing to the protection of our precious environment. It also provided a chance to learn more about the importance of recycling and how a local community can actively participate in preserving the environment.

We continued with a reuse workshop, where our retirees demonstrated their creativity by crafting jewelry from waste materials. This activity was not only educational but also enjoyable, allowing everyone to express themselves in a sustainable manner. The working atmosphere was marked by positive energy and smiles on faces, and the jewelry crafted by our retirees once again proved how waste materials can be transformed into something new and beautiful. Our gathering continued with a communal lunch, where we had the chance to savor the delicious specialties of Pomurje. The exchange of culinary experiences and flavors was a real treat for all of us.

The next stop on our journey was a visit to an art exhibition where talented retirees from the Pomurje region were the authors. It was inspiring to see the richness and diversity of artistic expression transcending generational boundaries. The beautiful works on display were motivating, not just as a visual experience, but also as an inspiration for our retirees. The refreshing creativity and passion visible in every brush stroke spurred conversations and the exchange of ideas among our retirees, with some expressing a desire to experiment with painting. This exhibition emphasized how art can serve as a powerful tool for expression, learning, and connecting, regardless of age.

We concluded the day at the Expano pavilion, the gateway to Pomurje, where our retirees explored the charms of Pomurje through virtual reality. This technological experience was a window into the beauties and cultural heritage of the region, providing us all with a deeper understanding and appreciation of this beautiful part of Slovenia.

This excursion not only provided our retirees with opportunities for learning and enjoyment, but also served as a means to strengthen intergenerational cooperation and exchange of experiences through education, interaction, and cultural exchange.
