On Thursday, April 21, 2022, on the premises of the Public Open University Čakovec, the two-day kick-off meeting of the project “EmpowHERment LAB” started, which was attended by representatives of the project consortium. The coordinator of the project is the Public Open University Čakovec, and the project partners are the Association Building Bridges from Spain, Lava Legato from the Netherlands, SuperCode from Germany, People’s University of Lendava from Slovenia and Associazione Culturale Enjoy Sicily from Italy. The project started in February this year and will last for 24 months. The value of the project is EUR 168,627.00 and it is funded under the Erasmus + KA2 program – Cooperation partnerships in adult education. The project was approved by the national Agency for mobility and EU programmes.
The objectives of the project are:
– promote the motivation and development of new interests in women at risk of social exclusion (economic, geographical, refugee difficulties) through the use of new technologies;
– facilitate new educational tools and methodologies to educators and adult education centers so that they can update their academic programming;
– foster the active participation of these target groups in the construction of skills, knowledge and competencies;
– promote a conscious and correct use of new technologies to develop new ways of learning and organizing knowledge;
– breaking down cultural barriers and improving the sensitivity of women towards this sector;
– provide adult training centers with a gender perspective that allows them to rethink their training approach and seek opportunities for a sector more egalitarian.
