During the past week, employees of the People’s Open University Čakovec participated in mobility in Tenerife as part of the Erasmus+ KA1 project called “Raising Competences: Better Teachers – Better Education”.
The goal of the project and mobility was professional training, gaining new experience, knowledge and insight into working with disadvantaged students, outdoor education and nature, and experiential learning.
During the four days of mobility, employees participated in interactive lectures on various topics from the previously mentioned domains. Some of them are: social and environmental teaching techniques, play-based learning, heritage interpretation techniques, emotion-focused pedagogy, creative outdoor teaching techniques and many more. In order to acquire new skills in working with students of different socioeconomic status and students with special needs, the POU team also visited the SOS children’s village in the settlement of El Tablero.
Mobility was made possible by the Agency for Mobility and Programs of the European Union, while Eduplus, a Spanish organization whose narrow field of work is the promotion and active development of teaching methodology and innovative tools for formal and informal education, is responsible for the organization and implementation of the lectures.
Grateful for new skills, experiences and acquaintances, we continue with work and further encouragement of lifelong learning and improvement!
