About
The SpLenDEd project aimed to develop a common assessment framework for evaluating the effectiveness of adult education offerings for learners with specific learning difficulties (SpLDs). The project created a set of criteria, an assessment framework and tools, and a good practice guide to help adult education providers across Europe adapt their offerings to better support learners with SpLDs. This ultimately increased participation and engagement in adult learning activities for those learners, facilitating their access to upskilling pathways. The project identified key factors affecting adult education effectiveness on learners with SpLDs through desk research and interviews with stakeholders. It then developed an assessment framework with indicators and tools to allow providers to evaluate their effectiveness. The project also compiled a guide of good practices for improving inclusion of learners with SpLDs. At the end of the project, the resources developed were shared in five national events and promoted via an online repository. Overall, the project equipped adult learning providers with practical means to assess and enhance the inclusiveness and effectiveness of their education offerings for persons with SpLDs.
