Three staff members of Pučko otvoreno učilište Čakovec participated in an Erasmus+ mobility in Palermo, attending the structured course “Incorporating Cultural Diversity in Education”. This mobility provided participants with valuable knowledge and new perspectives on interculturality and inclusive education.
Throughout an intensive week, participants engaged in lectures, workshops, and constructive discussions with colleagues from across Europe, deepening their understanding of cultural diversity and the importance of intercultural communication in adult education. Special attention was devoted to policies and measures within educational institutions, with a particular focus on the relationship between educators and learners, collaboration with parents and migrant communities, and desegregation policies.
A key topic was the linguistic and integration component, with discussions centred on the role of the national language and individual conditions for its acquisition. Participants were introduced to best practices and policies from various European countries, which will support the development of new approaches in their future work.
We extend our sincere thanks to ShipCon for the excellent organisation of the course, as well as to all European colleagues for their open exchange of experiences and knowledge. This mobility forms a foundation for future collaboration and the development of new joint projects.
