The project InclusiGardens aims to empower vulnerable and marginalized urban groups to grow micro-gardens for sustainability and self-sufficiency. This initiative will develop open educational resources on urban micro-gardening tailored for disadvantaged populations, including an e-toolkit, a zero-waste e-cookbook, gamification strategies, and a curriculum. Key objectives include teaching sustainable gardening skills and zero waste practices, promoting inclusion and community participation, and creating accessible digital resources. A digital hub website will host all materials, while focus groups with target populations, expert roundtables, and pilot workshops will be conducted. The partnership comprises Društvo za permakulturo Slovenije (Slovenia), Pučko otvoreno učiliste Čakovec (Croatia), and eVRgreen Studio (Netherlands). Each organization contributes specific expertise in sustainability education, adult education for vulnerable groups, and gamification techniques respectively. Running for 18 months from December 2024 to May 2026, with a budget of 60,000 euros, this initiative will directly benefit unemployed, low-income, and other marginalized urban dwellers. By providing skills, knowledge, and resources for sustainable urban micro-gardening, InclusiGardens aims to enhance food security, social inclusion, and overall well-being for these populations.
