Earth Overshoot Day marks the date when humanity has used up all the natural resources that the planet can regenerate in one year. From this day until the end of the year, we are living “on credit,” consuming the resources of future generations. This year, Croatia’s Overshoot Day was on April 27, the date by which we would have exhausted our annual budget of natural resources if the entire world lived like Croatia.<\/span><\/p>\n

At the Public Open University \u010cakovec, we are aware of this challenge and strive to contribute to sustainability and a better future through our daily work and numerous projects.<\/span><\/p>\n

Education for Change<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

One of the key ways we contribute is by providing educational programs focused on sustainability. Programs such as the organic cultivation of medicinal herbs, vegetables, and fruits provide participants with practical knowledge for a more sustainable way of life and production. These programs are also available for free through the voucher measure of the Croatian Employment Service.<\/span><\/p>\n
