ASSISTANT WAITER
  • Goal: to introduce catering to students
  • Enrolment requirements: primary school, age limit: 15, medical certificate
  • Duration: 310 hours
  • Students will:
    • gain knowledge, skills and habits for carrying out the duties of a waiter
    • be introduced to merchandise in catering
    • acquire skills for mastering the training programme
    • acquire skills for mastering less complex tasks
    • be trained for carrying out tasks under the supervision of a qualified waiter
    • develop a sense for hygiene and health conditions
    • learn how to use provisions
    • be introduced to fruit and vegetables used in cooking and catering
    • be taught how to handle, clean and maintain cutlery and cooking pots
    • be able to assemble menus in compliance with the needs of the guests

COOK
  • Goal: to introduce cooking to students
  • Enrolment requirements: primary school, age limit: 15, medical certificate
  • Duration: 450 hours
  • Students will:
    • be taught to choose provisions according to quality and origin and store them appropriately
    • differentiate and use different cooking processes
    • apply the rules about personal, facility, appliance and cutlery hygiene
    • use and keep the cutlery and appliances appropriately
    • participate in cooking and completing more complex dishes
    • recognize and prepare traditional dishes for Međimurje
    • communicate according to kitchen etiquette
    • apply health and safety measures

BARTENDER
  • Goal: to introduce students to food preparation
  • Enrolment requirements: primary school, age limit: 18, medical certificate
  • Duration: 140 hours
  • Students will:
    • be taught about the importance of the profession in tourism and catering
    • learn about health and safety measures
    • be introduced to potential sources of pollution and transmission of infectious diseases
    • use materials and energy rationally
    • be able to use the appliances correctly
    • develop professional traits
    • apply the rules of personal hygiene and professional etiquette
    • be introduced to the equipment used (appliances, dishes, the whole bar inventory)
    • know the duties of a bartender
    • learn to respect authority
    • be able to recognize the needs of guests
    • learn about guest reception and departure
    • learn about the beverage and price lists
    • be able to make all the preparations for their job
    • learn about the customs of different cultures regarding drinks and simple food
    • be trained to use different techniques for mixing and serving cocktails and drinks
    • be able to apply different billing methods
    • learn to clean up
    • be able to do the daily takings

PIZZA MAKER
  • Goal: to introduce students to pizza making
  • Enrolment requirements: primary school, age limit: 18, medical certificate
  • Duration: 150 hours
  • Students will:
    • be able to use materials and energy rationally
    • be able to choose high quality provisions and ingredients for the dough and pizza
    • be able to make pizzas based on different recipes
    • know how to bake pizzas
    • be able to serve pizzas
    • apply the rules about personal, appliance and cutlery hygiene
    • take protective measures
    • be able to choose suitable protective means

HOUSEKEEPER
  • Goal: to introduce students to the housekeeper job requirements
  • Enrolment requirements: primary school, age limit: 15, medical certificate
  • Duration: 175 hours
  • Students will:
    • be introduced to hotel rooms, basic equipment and tagging the rooms when being cleaned
    • understand the importance of communication, interconnectivity with other hotel departments
    • learn about cleaning and housekeeping
    • be able to use cleaning and polishing products and disinfectants
    • be able to introduce themselves and others, describe objects and inventory in a room and other parts of a hotel
    • learn about personal, facility and equipment hygiene
    • learn about professional etiquette
    • acquire skills for professional communication

CONFECTIONER
  • Goal: to introduce students to food preparation
  • Enrolment requirements: primary school, age limit: 18, medical certificate
  • Duration: 175 hours
  • Students will:
    • acquire knowledge, skills and habits, which will enable them to work as confectioners
    • learn about the equipment and making confections
    • learn about the nutritional values of ingredients
    • be able to apply the rules of personal hygiene
    • learn about potential pollutants and transmission of infectious diseases
    • learn about health and safety regulations
